Mommy And Me

(*Dads, Grandparents and other Caregivers are always welcome.)

The Mommy & Me* program at Dance Elektra was developed as a way for little ones to learn to socialize and play with other children their age. It is a great opportunity for parent socialization as well, and to meet other families with young children in the area. Mommy & Me* is directed and taught by a warm and loving early childhood educator. Each level of and activity is designed to enhance early learning, build socialization skills, increase confidence and strengthen the bond between the child and caregiver.

Dance Elektra’s Mommy and Me* classes run in 8 week sessions and meets once week for 45 minutes.  Each session includes activities such as; Arts & Crafts, Parachute Play, Singing & Dancing, use of Instruments and Props, and Free Play time for exploration!  These activities not only stimulates the senses through music but offers socialization for both babies and adults.

Infant Mommy & Me

(3 months-Independently walking)

The infant Mommy & Me class is specifically designed for babies who are not yet independently walking. The class includes music and movement such as experimental play with props such as colored scarves, shaky eggs, and balls of many colors and textures. The little ones will enjoy nursery rhymes and puppets, along with developmental toys and activities to encourage stimulation through senses. Parents will learn calming techniques such as simple infant message, as well as gain knowledge of typical developmental milestones. Arts & crafts are lots of fun! Each 8-week session will include a seasonal footprint project.

Toddler Mommy & Me

(Independently walking -2 yrs old)

The toddler Mommy & Me class is appropriate for independent movers under the age of 3. The toddler class is more active than the infant class, and is designed to channel the energy of a toddler. Each class involves music and dancing with props such as rainbow ribbons and rhythm sticks. Parachute play and bean bag games help children learn to cooperatively play as a group. Participation in such activities will help develop independence in each child, while increasing confidence.
